Velvet Blues

Pale highlights trace the curve of a saxophone through violet, rose and black. The musician leans towards the mouthpiece, his face and hands emerging from the surrounding washes. Closely framed and richly shadowed, the portrait evokes the intimacy of a performance heard from only a few feet away.

Original watercolour on professional-grade paper, stretched over a wooden support and protected with layers of GOLDEN Archival Varnish with UV protection. Presented without glass in a handmade black floating frame. The painting measures 60 × 90 cm; overall framed dimensions are 60 × 90 × 3.3 cm. Supplied ready to hang with fittings attached.
